Start with a bounded task
A freelance brief is easier to assess when it describes a section change, a product template or a defined storefront fix. Provide the existing website, the problem and the expected result. Theme copies, app dependencies and merchant editing settings are reviewed before work starts.
Agree how the work will be accepted
The proposal identifies the deliverables, review steps and what is outside scope. Source files, licences and ongoing responsibilities should be documented. A short engagement does not imply unlimited support or automatic ownership of third-party components; the actual agreement defines those terms.
Agree the scope and the handover
Before implementation, we agree the pages, functionality, content responsibilities and review steps. Hosting, domains and any paid services are identified separately. The work is tested against realistic publishing and customer tasks, with routine editing explained at handover. New features and ongoing support need an explicit scope rather than an assumed unlimited commitment.

An initial discussion can clarify the task, but a reliable scope may need authorised access or a technical review.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Share your current website, intended audience, required pages or workflows, and any existing systems. A proposal can then separate the initial work, recurring services and any limitations.
Can I maintain the agreed content myself?
The publishing interface and the content areas you need to edit are included in the planning discussion. Routine updates are demonstrated during handover.
